About Charnwood

Anna joined Charnwood in 2009 and was promoted to partner in 2014. Anna now manages a varied portfolio of clients from farmers to multi-million-pound turnover manufacturers. Anna completed her CTA (Chartered Tax Advisor) exams in May 2011 passing all the exams first time, in one sitting. Since this she has expanded her tax knowledge considerably and specialises in tax-efficient exit strategies and company and group restructures. A self-confessed tax geek, Anna is at her happiest when discussing tax planning strategies with clients and other members of the team.

Outside work Anna is a keen golfer and is on the endless quest to reduce her handicap and master the unmasterable game!

 

Chris has been with Charnwood Accountants from the start in April 2004. Chris plays an integral role in the firm’s past, present and future looking after a portfolio of clients and playing a key part in the practice’s management. Chris has been advising owner managed businesses since 1999, in that time Chris qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant which has given him the technical knowledge to go with good business acumen and listening skills, which are key to his role in advising clients.

Chris’s experience and knowledge mean that he can meet the day-to-day needs of his clients’ compliance requirements as well as advising them on business and taxation issues. Chris believes his no nonsense and proactive approach is highly valued by clients and colleagues alike. He has a keen interest in developing the practice and has a long term invested interest in the business.

Chris does love his sports, he is a keen runner, and he is now looking for his next challenge after completing his first marathon in April 2020, Chris plays hockey in winter for a local team, is a keen golfer and enjoys archery with his daughter.

Paula joined Charnwood Accountants in 2011 and holds a portfolio of clients that ranges across many industries including property developers and Solicitors practices, solicitors being her specialist area of expertise. Due to spending most of her career working with solicitors, Paula has assisted many with the business development side of their practice rather than just the compliance work. As a result, Paula has created a benchmarking tool that is available on our dedicated solicitors’ website www.charnwoodforsolicitors.co.uk

The free tool provides valuable and practical advice on how to improve a firm’s profitability.

prior to joining Charnwood Accountants, Paula worked at a mid-tier firm performing accountancy, taxation and audit services whilst undertaking her ACCA training, of which she is now a fellow. Paula is an extremely proactive and approachable professional who takes immense pride in all her work.

Chris joined Charnwood Accountants as a Client Manager in January 2015 having previously worked at an independent firm based in the midlands. Following his graduation from University, Chris worked his way through the ranks to become an ACCA qualified audit senior before becoming the manager of the small business department. As part of this role, he developed his skills in being the first point of contact for a portfolio of clients as well as ensuring all compliance work was completed by the deadlines.

Since joining Charnwood, Chris continued his development and became partner in January 2022. He continues to look after a portfolio of clients and enjoys the varied work that being at Charnwood Accountants offers especially the business advisory side of things. In particular, he enjoys working closely with owner managed businesses to help them grow and reach their full potential.

Outside of work, Chris has two children who keep him on his toes. He enjoys most sport from Cycling to the NFL but his main sport will always be football. He is a passionate Leicester City fan where he has held a season ticket since 2002. Recently he has also started coaching kids football in his local village and has taken up golf.

Tracy joined Charnwood Accountants in July 2006 having gained 16 years’ experience at both a mid-tier firm and a top 4 firm.  Tracy is a Chartered Tax Advisor with expertise in Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax.  She advises on a wide range of tax planning matters for corporates, partnerships, Trusts, and individuals. 

Tracy has a professional and friendly approach towards clients, working with them to ensure both their business and personal taxation affairs are dealt with efficiently and cost effectively. 

Outside of work Tracy enjoys swimming, yoga and loves travelling to new destinations.

Abbie joined Charnwood in April 2017. Prior to this, she worked in practice at another local firm, and specialised in tax at one of the national firms.

As well as being a member of the Association of Chartered & Certified Accountants, she is also a Chartered Tax Advisor, with specialist areas including private client and corporate tax.

Becky joined Charnwood Accountants in May 2022. Prior to this, Becky built up a wealth of experience in personal tax having worked at various firms of accountants across Leicestershire since beginning her career in tax in 2001.

She is a member of both the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). She enjoys the variety of work in tax and the challenge of keeping up to date with the ever-changing tax legislation.

In her spare time, Becky enjoys yoga, walking in the countryside and spending time with her family and friends.

Emma joined Charnwood Accountants as a Client Manager in 2007. After graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance, she went on to gain her ACCA qualification 3 years later, whilst working in a small local practice to gain a wider experience of all aspects of accounts and taxation.

Emma then went on to work at a local office of a national firm. where she had the opportunity to work closely with the clients within her portfolio, offering them a quality service, whilst meeting all their accounting, audit, and taxation needs.

In her spare time Emma likes to keep active and is passionate about health and wellness. She is a member of a local bootcamp where she attends sessions at least 3 times a week; loves her dance fitness classes and spends as much time as possible walking the family dog Marley. She enjoys travelling with her husband and friends and visiting her son at University in Manchester. She also likes to support a local charity “Living Without Abuse” and can often be found helping at events.

Erica has been with the practice since March 2015, prior to this Erica built up a wealth of experience at another local firm, during this period she qualified as a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 1996 and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2000 and is now a Fellow of the ACCA. Erica manages a wide portfolio of clients across many industry sectors and has expertise in advising sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.  Throughout her career, Erica has prided herself on her personable approach, providing a good quality and professional service to all clients in her portfolio.  These range from large audit clients to professional practices and personal clients.

Outside of work Erica is kept busy by running around after her two children. Erica has a passion for essential oils and always seems to have an oil on hand for any ailments in the office!!

Luke joined Charnwood in November 2021. Previously Luke had worked at another local firm since 2013. During this time, Luke has worked with a wide range of clients and has gained experience in providing accounting, auditing and taxation services. Since moving to Charnwood, Luke has been able to expand this experience with increased exposure to auditing of solicitors and funding grants.

Outside of work, Luke’s passion is music – especially live music. He enjoys going to gigs and dabbles in playing guitar

Theresa joined Charnwood Accountants in April 2018. After graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree in Accounting from Glasgow University, Theresa went on to gain her CA qualification, while working in a small practice in Glasgow. In January 2016, Theresa then moved to England where she joined an independent Central Milton Keynes based firm, progressing quickly from Accounts Senior to Manager. Looking for a more varied role, Theresa joined Charnwood Accountants as a Client Manager. She manages a wide portfolio of clients across many industry sectors and has expertise in advising sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, providing accounting, auditing, and taxation services.

Outside of work Theresa likes spending time with friends and family, travelling to new places and trips back to home to Scotland.

Bas has been with the practice since June 2022 and has worked in accountancy and audit field since 2009. He has built up a wealth of experience at a number of another local firms during this period. He is currently sitting his final exam and expects to qualify as a member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants this year.

Throughout his career, Bas enjoys building good working relationships with his clients and is motivated by providing the best service possible.

Outside of work, Bas is a keen racquet sports player and tries to offset his enjoyment of good food with long walks in the countryside and regular gym sessions. Bas also has a passion for football and is a season ticket holder at Leicester City Football Club, where he follows the foxes over land and sea.

Atisha joined Charnwood Accountants in 2023 after previously working as an Auditor for 4 years in other practices in Leicester. Prior to this, Atisha used to work as an auditor in the busy streets of London. These included large corporate companies, academies and charities in various industries.

Atisha qualified as a Chartered Accountant and a Business Financial Professional with ICAEW after completing her degree in Accountancy and Finance.

At Charnwood Accountants, Atisha enjoys being able to work with her own portfolio of clients and provide assistance in all areas they require. She takes pride in herself and assisting her clients. Atisha has a wide portfolio of clients across many industry which has helped her develop her skills and experience which she shares with her clients. She has expertise in sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities and academies, and providing them with accounting, auditing and taxation services.

Outside of work, Atisha loves to make memories and is always taking pictures and finding different things to do, places to eat and new experiences. She enjoys baking, travelling and a glass of wine or two.

Anja Joined Charnwood Accounts in August 2014, Anja is part of our administration and reception team, she has over 18 years’ experience working in a very customer focussed environment.

Having had front line roles within a known high street bank and opticians, Anja also spent seven years as PA to a Group Managing Director within the health and fitness industry and applies the knowledge and skills she has built up to help provide close administration support to the technical team in the office.  Her understanding of the importance of excellent customer service with a personal touch also shows when speaking to and assisting our clients.

In Anja’s spare time, she loves performing on stage with local amateur dramatic societies, spending time with friends and chasing after her little girl, Annie.

Lesley joined Charnwood Accountants in November 2011 as part of the admin team.   She provides PA, reception, and administrative support to the technical team.  She has over 25 years’ experience in front line customer service roles for corporates, The NHS, and a family run business.

Lesley believes customer care is an absolute must.  Lesley’s ‘can do’ approach provides a warm and friendly welcome to clients and colleagues alike. In addition to her admin duties, Lesley gets involved in the “onboarding process” for new clients here at Charnwood and so if you are thinking of becoming a client you will no doubt be speaking with Lesley in the future. 

In her spare time, Lesley enjoys a glass or two of wine at her local pub with friends, family and her Shih Tzu, Harvey. She also enjoys walking, reading, travel, theatre and lots of cuddles with her young grandchildren”

Gina joined Charnwood Accountants in November 2023, and is a member of the admin team after a career within the government sector.
Outside of work, Gina is a mum to her 2 boys Roman & Mason and fur baby labrador Winston. She enjoys watching local weekend football, as well as watching Leicester City, spending time with her friends and family, going on weekend dog walks with her parents Hungarian Viszla’s.
