Motor Dealerships

We act for a number of motor dealerships and so we have considerable experience in dealing with the issues that motor dealers face.

We provide proactive tax advice, through our unique service plan, in a timely fashion to make sure that all tax saving opportunities are identified and presented to the Board.

All our fees are agreed in advance and there are no unpleasant fee surprises.

Only employing qualified, highly trained and experienced client managers, we make sure there is continuity of contact when the accounts are prepared and audited on a year on year basis.

If you own the premises there may be opportunities to claim tax reliefs hidden in the cost of the premises. Also, we are used to working with motor dealers in avoiding the potentially significant double tax charge when the premises are disposed of or when the business is sold or passed on.

We can help you to retain key members of staff through the creative use of Enterprise Management Incentive Schemes (EMI schemes) – simple, HMRC approved, share option arrangements.

Our extensive in house knowledge of all VAT issues surrounding the motor trade means our staff are all trained to understand the difference between a qualifying and non-qualifying vehicle and the complex rules concerning VAT and the private use of demonstrator cars etc.

We keep our dealers up to date with the latest tax changes that might help them increase their own sales. For example there has been a recent change to capital allowances which allows businesses to claim 100% tax relief for buying business cars for employees with emissions of less than 100g/km.
