What is Admin? Well that is a very good question, it is a variety of things – some expected, some unexpected – but administration is a key function of all businesses. With all the best will in the world your day is often not as you expect it to be when you first arrive at your desk, open the blinds and settle down with a nice cup of coffee, but this could not be more true than for our Admin Team. The best asset you can have in your Admin Team is flexibility. Here at Charnwood Accountants our Admin Team don’t dictate what the day will bring, but we give every task our best with a “can do” attitude and a smile.
Our team of six are the best! All with slightly different skills, but all perfectly matched to ensure we can complete everything that is required by our client managers and partners, to help our clients get the most from Charnwood Accountants in a warm and friendly way. Long gone are the days of being apprehensive about visiting your accountant, we make our clients really welcome and ensure their experience is one they will want to repeat. We enjoy a natter with clients too and look forward to client visits or when they just pop in to drop off the books, sometimes with babies, toddlers or even dogs in tow … when there is always a rush from the Team for a cuddle or stroke!
From the daily meeting and greeting of clients and taking phone calls, we get ourselves involved in all different areas of work. Some of our more routine tasks are a daily occurrence and include arranging meetings, answering email queries, typing meeting notes, letter writing, billing, online filing, taking payments and helping clients with fee and portal queries. However, plenty of our time is taken up with more complex tasks such as forming limited companies, LLP’s, partnerships, undertaking share re-organisations, engaging and registering clients with HMRC for VAT/PAYE, capital reductions and options to tax. We get involved with it all! Our client managers guide us through our internal systems, highlighting any follow-ups to ensure all tasks are completed and in good time for our clients.
Our open plan office is perfect for communication and knowledge sharing, which often extends itself to a discussion about food!! The Admin Team love their food and can often be heard discussing the previous night’s dinner or plans for what they are cooking today. In fact, we are very proud of ourselves if we get to 3pm without mentioning food! That aside, we are a team that help each other with queries and bounce ideas off each other which all adds to the high level of service we provide to our clients. No job is too big or too small and we’re always on hand to help both our colleagues and clients, with a prompt response and a reassuring smile.
